Vocational training at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH offers you the best career opportunities in an exciting and varied field. Our airports depend on smooth operations and quick solutions to problems. To this end, you will learn how rescue operations are carried out, how to rescue people and how to provide medical care. This also includes operating technical equipment and driving the fire engine. Training to become a company fire-fighter not only focus on fighting fires. As a good company fire-fighter, you are always one step ahead and do everything you can to prevent fires and other emergencies and to keep safety precautions at the highest level.

 
  • secondary school leaving certificate and a minimum age of 16.5 years at the start of the training,
  • good academic performance, especially in mathematics and scientific subjects, as well as physical fitness,
  • interest in electronic and mechanical connections,
  • manual skills and willingness for 24-hour service,
  • ability to work in a team and reliability.

  • to demonstrate your manual skills in practical situations,

You will begin on 1 August.

Your training will last for 3 years.

In the first 18 months, you will undergo manual compact training in the four trades relevant to the fire service: electrical work, metalwork, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and woodwork.

In the 18 months following that, you will qualify as a fire-fighter. Furthermore, you will get your class B+C driving licence, and do paramedic, sport and lifeguard training. Your training will be completed with lessons at a college in Eisenhüttenstadt.
