October 1; pre-internship from August 1 - September 30.
Three years. It is not possible to shorten the period of study.
During your practical phases, you will support our colleagues in the design, planning, implementation and management of complex IT projects to support operational business processes at the airport. You will also be involved in the support and conceptual development of application and management systems.
During your dual study program, you will not only work in the IT units, but will also gain insight into the operational and administrative areas of the airport. Here you will be taught a broad range of business skills, for example in finance and accounting, purchasing, marketing and public relations, or human resources.
During the first four practical phases, you will write three practical reports and a student research project. At the end of your training, you will complete a bachelor's thesis. The topic is determined in consultation with the training company.
The practical part is complemented by classes at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. You can find out more about the content of the theoretical studies on the university's website

Exploring Berlin's three airports, getting to know two departments in detail, working on projects or organizing a workshop entirely on my own... and all within the first 10 months of my dual study program.
The alternation of theory and practice and the different areas you go through during your studies mean that everyday life is never boring. What I particularly liked about the training program at FBB were the introductory weeks with the trainee trip and the trainee party organized by the JAV. In particular, I was assigned to the IT and noise control departments. In both departments I was warmly welcomed, supported but also challenged.
Throughout the 10 months, I was constantly faced with new challenges, but I was able to master them with the support of my fellow students and the employees in the specialist departments. I'm already looking forward to the next few years and am excited to see what other experiences I'll gain during this time.
