Take-offs over Schöneiche caused an average maximum level of 65 dB(A) and landings averaged 60 dB(A), but were hardly recorded over Schöneiche. The values were thus significantly below the forecasts made for Schöneiche before the BER went into operation.
Constant sound levels are important, among other things, for determining limit values when it comes to guaranteeing noise protection measures: rooms used at night are protected from a constant sound level of 50 dB(A), rooms used during the day from 60 dB(A).
