Children’s high-visibility vests for the airport region

2,752 high-visibility vests distributed in airport region

We have been involved with a start of school campaign for our youngest neighbours since 2020. Surrounding schools again had the opportunity to apply for children’s high-visibility vests for the new first-year pupils this year after our call in June.

This time, word had really spread about our start of school campaign – we received enquiries from 36 schools in the airport region. In total, we distributed 2,752 children’s high-visibility vests to surrounding schools in time for the start of the school year – a new record.

Chief Human Resources Officer Michael Halberstadt personally handed over the last delivery today to Andrea Ludwig, head of Theodor Fontane Primary School in Ludwigsfelde. The visit was a moment of great joy for both for her and the first-year pupils. From now on, they will wear the vests on their way to school – whether on foot or by bike.

We particularly also want to call for mutual consideration in road traffic with our start of school campaign. The luminescent vests are an important contribution to the road safety of the pupils in the area surrounding the airport. The vests allow the children to be seen from a distance of around 140m – instead of the 25m without vests.
