Between the preparations for the next travel waves at Easter and in summer and the fundamental change in the industry on its way to carbon-neutral flying: in 2023, the aviation industry will continue dealing with the task of getting back to normal following operations shaped by the pandemic; at the same time, the industry is experiencing a fundamental shift towards climate-friendly flying. Together, this gives rise to many questions to which industry and politics want to find common answers. Therefore, there were plenty of topics under discussion at the spring meeting of the German Airports Association (ADV) at BER. Dr Volker Wissing visited the airports’ industry event at BER in order to shed some light on the many interfaces between politics and business. In the video interview, the Minister of Transport answers questions about the importance of the capital’s airport, the future of flying and preparations for this summer’s travel.
