From 1 March to 3 April and from 2 May to 1 June, 2023, FBB’s mobile measuring station was deployed in Karlshofer Heide. The aircraft noise measurements revealed a continuous aircraft noise level of 48.2 or 55.2 dB(A) during the day and 39.3 or 44.5 dB(A) at night.
In Karlshof, take-offs from the southern runway to the east and west were mainly measured. The eastbound take-offs from the south runway produced an average maximum noise level of 71 and 72 dB(A), respectively, while the westbound take-offs from the south runway produced 60 and 59 dB(A), respectively.
The continuous sound levels are, among other things, important for determining the limit values when it comes to guaranteeing noise protection measures: Rooms used at night are protected from a continuous noise level of 50 dB(A), rooms used during the day from 60 dB(A).
All measured values were below the claim limits for noise protection and compensation measures.
