Baking biscuits for a good cause

Once again this year, the airport company’s (FBB) trainees and students got involved in a special Christmas campaign for a good cause: on Tuesday, 28 November 2023, 14 FBB trainees and students came together with colleagues from the company to bake biscuits for people in need in the areas surrounding the airport. For half a day, people in the staff canteen were busy kneading, rolling out, cutting out and baking. The results were impressive: around 2,000 lovingly decorated biscuits were made from 30 kilograms of dough.

Just in time for the start of Advent, the biscuits were packed in small bags and handed over to the tea and warming room in Königs Wusterhausen by HR Director Michael Halberstadt together with other donations in kind, where they will bring joy to people in need.

The centre is run by the charitable organisation Diakonisches Werk Lübben and has been an important contact point for those who are homeless and in need in the surrounding area for many years, especially during the cold season. The tea and warming room in Königs Wusterhausen is located at Maxim-Gorki-Str. 6/7 and is open from Monday to Wednesday from 9 am to 1 pm and on Fridays from 9 am to 12 pm.
