New gastronomy at BER: travellers and people picking up their food can now also get their favourite burger at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The first of two future burger restaurants at BER now serves the full range of fast food on the arrivals level in Terminal 1. Set out over 285 square metres, Burger King invites everyone to a modern fast-food restaurant with self-order terminals and over 120 seats.
Burger King at BER is operated by the SSP Group, which is therefore prominently expanding the range of restaurant services at Berlin Brandenburg Airport with the internationally recognised fast-food brand. The opening of the first Burger King in Terminal 1’s public area is the beginning of more new food and beverage units at BER. At the beginning of 2024, the SSP Group will open a second Burger King in the Food Court behind the airport’s security controls. A second Starbucks, also operated by SSP, will be added to the services in the Food Court next year. The award was preceded by an EU concession award procedure in which concessions for operating four food and beverage units in BER’s Terminal 1 were awarded.
Aletta von Massenbach, Chief Executive Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: “We are delighted to be able to expand the range of food and beverage services at BER for passengers and visitors with the internationally recognised fast-food brand Burger King. In SSP, we as the operator have an internationally experienced and successful food and beverage partner that complements services at BER very well with the Burger King and Starbucks brands.”
