Airport boss Lütke Daldrup wants to leave FBB in September 2021

Engelbert Lütke Daldrup, Chief Executive Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH (FBB) since March 2017, has asked the Supervisory Board to terminate his employment contract ahead of schedule effective as of September this year. In a letter to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board yesterday, he points out that he has fulfilled his purpose with the completion and commissioning of BER and the submission of the new 2021 business plan. Once he reaches 65 years of age later this year, it will be time to clear the way for a new and qualified leadership team. Now it is about FBB continuing to devote itself intensively to the restructuring.

Rainer Bretschneider, Chairman of the Supervisory Board: “Engelbert Lütke Daldrup took on great responsibility at a very difficult time for FBB and has lived up to the hopes and expectations placed in him. The fact that BER went into operation was largely because of his work. We owe him a great debt of gratitude.

FBB’s Supervisory Board will address the issue at its meeting on Friday and deliberate the necessary consequences. Focus should be on the company’s ability to act just as much as its medium-term personnel and strategic orientation.”
