Skilled labour for the airport region

15 years Airport Campus: panel discussion on 06.12. on current challenges

To mark the 15th anniversary of the Airport Campus lecture series, Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH is organising a panel discussion on the topic of “Competition for talent: securing skilled labour for the airport region”.

This will take place on Wednesday, 6 December 2023 at 6 pm in Hall 17 at Wildau Technical University of Applied Sciences. The event is aimed at students in Berlin and Brandenburg as well as representatives from research, politics and business in the airport region.

Participants can expect a discussion group with experts from the region on the opportunities and challenges posed by the skilled labour situation in BER’s surrounding area. Afterwards, participants will have the opportunity to find out more about career prospects at BER, chat and network over snacks and drinks.

Michael Halberstadt, Chief Human Resources Officer at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: “Everyone is talking about the skilled labour shortage. As an airport, we also have to deal with how the dynamic development around BER’s surrounding region and other factors affecting the labour market and skilled labour situation. In the panel discussion, we want to discuss opportunities, challenges and solutions to this topic together with experts, taking into account perspectives from politics, business and research.”

Participation in the event is free of charge. Car parking spaces are available on site for those travelling by car. For those travelling by public transport, the Wildau suburban railway station is in the immediate vicinity of the venue.

About Airport Campus:
The Airport Campus series of events was launched in November 2008 as a university initiative of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH to give students the opportunity to combine theory and practice at first hand using the airport company as an example. Since then, more than 4,000 students have taken part in 60 lecture events on various topics. The format has now developed into a recognised hub between science and business.
