Around 1.57 million passengers passed through BER in February 2024, according to the preliminary figures in the traffic report. This represents an increase of 10.9 per cent compared to February 2023, with approximately 1.42 million passengers. In February in the pre-pandemic year 2019, 2.54 million passengers passed through the two airports Tegel and Schönefeld.
In February 2024, 12,433 aircraft took off and landed at BER. Compared to the same month of the previous year, aircraft movements increased by 9.7 per cent: in February 2023, there were 11,338 aircraft movements. In February of the pre-coronavirus year 2019, there were 22,041 take-offs and landings at Tegel and Schönefeld.
In total, around 2,991 tonnes of air cargo were handled at BER in February 2024, 10.9 per cent more than in the same month last year. Compared to February in the pre-pandemic year 2019, air cargo volumes in February were again higher and increased by 20.5 per cent (2,482 tonnes).
