On 16 October 2024, representatives of the collective bargaining parties of the ver.di trade union, the employers’ association AWB and Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH met for a third round of negotiations as part of the current collective bargaining round.
The ver.di trade union had terminated the airport company’s existing collective wage agreement as of 31.09.2024.
The collective bargaining parties agreed on the following key points in the third round of negotiations:
Michael Halberstadt, Chief Human Resources Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH:
“The outcome of the negotiations is a balanced compromise that takes into consideration our employees’ interests as well as the company’s challenging economic situation. It is an expression of a strong, but also good, negotiating culture that enabled us to reach an agreement at the negotiating table, without the necessity for accompanying token strikes, which at all times cause major inconvenience for our passengers and our company. The agreed overall package underlines our attractiveness as an employer and shows that we offer reliable prospects even in challenging times.”
