Christian Franzke is the now new representative for the airport region
Christian Franzke is the new Regional Engagement officer for the Berlin Brandenburg Airport region. 39-year-old Franzke will begin his new appointment on February 1 and act as the interface between BER with its daily flight operations and the people, towns and communities in the area surrounding the airport. He succeeds Rosemarie Meichsner, who retired at the end of 2021 after many years as Regional Engagement officer.
Before he left, Franzke worked in corporate communications for the airport company. Before that, he had been part of the Regional Engagement team for several years and is now returning to his old place of work as the person responsible for the airport’s interaction with the capital region.
Regional Engagement at Berlin Brandenburg Airport acts as the central contact point for citizens and elected officials in the airport region. In the Airport Berlin-Brandenburg dialogue forum, which offers a platform for cooperation between the states, cities, municipalities and districts around BER, the airport company is represented by the Managing Director Michael Halberstadt as well as the Regional Engagement officer.
As the acting HR Manager, Michael Halberstadt, welcomes the new representative for Regional Engagement: “Interaction with our surrounding area is of pivotal importance to us. We are therefore pleased that, in Christian Franzke, we have been able to in entrust this important position to an experienced and familiar colleague.”
