Reading day at BER Aiport

This morning, Chief Human Resources Officer Michael Halberstadt had the opportunity to welcome some very special guests here at BER: the 'Wackelzahntiger' ('loose-toothed tigers') – 36 children from the day nursery 'Kinderkiste' ('children's box') in Zeuthen.

As long ago as November last year, the team involved in work in the areas surrounding the airport cordially invited the group to come on an excursion to the new BER on the occasion of the annual reading day. Sadly, the event then had to be cancelled at short notice because of the coronavirus.

Thus the children had all the more reason to rejoice when they were picked up directly from the day nursery today and taken to BER in a bus organised by the airport. When they got there, there was a 'picture book literature alarm' in store for them, with a super story about Cowboy Klaus and his animal friend. This very special reading was supported by Barbara Winter of 'Kind und Kegel e.V.' from the neighbouring municipality of Eichwalde, who has been a partner of the work done by Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg in the surrounding areas for many years. After a short break for snacks and beverages, the children were taken up to the viewing terrace, where they had the opportunity to marvel at the aircraft starting and landing. Before the loose-toothed tigers set off back to Zeuthen in the shuttle bus, each child received a little present.
