According to the preliminary figures in the traffic report, around 2.15 million passengers passed through BER in April 2024. This represents an increase of 12.6 per cent compared to April 2023, when around 1.91 million passengers travelled via BER. The busiest day was 26 April when the airport welcomed 86,578 passengers. In April of the pre-pandemic year 2019, 3.1 million passengers passed through the two airports Tegel and Schönefeld.
In April 2024, 16,689 aircraft were registered at BER. Compared to the same month of the previous year, aircraft movements increased by 14.1 per cent. In April 2023, there were 14,630 aircraft movements. In March 2019, 24,584 aircraft movements were recorded at Tegel and Schönefeld.
In total, around 3,790 tonnes of air freight were handled at BER in April 2024, 55,8 per cent more than in the same month last year (with 2,432 tonnes). Compared to April in the pre-pandemic year 2019 (2,522 tonnes), air freight volumes in April 2024 increased by 50,3 per cent.
