Structure of the Cargo Centre

  • On the ground floor (entrance A - B), Wisag (WCS) has its truck docks (10ft + 20ft) and dock levellers with direct access to the handling area. This offers a cooling / freezer centre with two temperature zones for 70 - 120 Euro pallets as well as special storage facilities for radioactive materials and valuables. In addition to dual view X-ray technology, dogs can also be used to check cargo security alternatively.
  • On the ground floor (entrance B) there is a ramp for unloading from vans, as well as a ground-level access with customer parking spaces. This is for deliveries for air freight forwarders with own storage areas. DB Schenker also offers its own cooling facilities for around 70 Euro pallets.
  • Customs, border veterinary inspections and plant health control have also their handling areas here. BER is approved as a first point of EU entry, i.e. shipments to Eastern Europe (Poland, Baltic States, etc.) or Scandinavia can also be handled via BER (via motorway directly to the ferry in Rostock, approx. 300 kilometers / 3 hours driving time).
  • Entrance C is e.g. for Swissport Cargo Service
  • The three-storey office building above the delivery area houses the offices of airlines, freight forwarders, handling agents and authorities.
