General information

Photography, filming and audio recording at BER require prior authorisation. Applications are assessed and approved by the Media Office of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH (FBB).

Authorisation may be restricted, postponed or refused without giving reasons.

Application

Enquiries are processed on weekdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. In urgent cases, a press spokesperson is available outside these hours for editorial matters.

Public areas

Recording is generally permitted, provided authorisation has been granted.

The usual rules for public spaces (e.g. no obstruction of operations) and the general rules of conduct (link here) apply.

Security areas

Access is only permitted with additional security clearances and an escort. A longer lead time is required.

Drone footage

requires separate authorisation and is subject to strict regulations.

Notes

General Information

Filming outside the expressly authorised areas is not permitted. Changes may be made at short notice for safety or operational reasons; in such cases, we will inform you immediately.

Conduct on Site

  • Please keep disruption at the filming location to a minimum.
  • Structures, additional equipment or similar installations are not permitted.
  • Filming must not disrupt the flow of traffic or passengers.

Security-related requirements

  • Filming and photographing security facilities and security personnel is not permitted.
  • Filming may only take place in a visible and clearly recognisable manner.
  • Hidden filming, covert cameras or temporary video surveillance installations are prohibited.

People & Interviews

  • Interviews and filming of airport staff must be agreed in advance with the Media Office.
  • The personal rights of passengers and employees must be respected at all times.

Additional permissions

Further authorisations are required for certain areas and situations; for example, in the check-in area, at the gates or on board aircraft, separate authorisation from the respective airline or ground handling service provider is required; for filming in leased areas such as catering outlets, shops or handling areas, the consent of the respective operator is required; for filming in the station, you require a separate authorisation from Deutsche Bahn.
