The Lesbian and Gay City Festival around Schöneberg's Motzstraße celebrated its 30th anniversary on 20 and 21 July 2024. Around 350,000 visitors, a great stage programme and the best summer weather made for an exuberant atmosphere at the large and colourful event in the Nollendorf neighbourhood. The airport company was also there this year to celebrate diversity and set a visible sign for the LGBTQ+ community (not only) in the capital region. There were many interesting discussions with the numerous guests at the airport company's stand. Berlin's Governing Mayor Kai Wegner also visited our tent to find out about the start of the holiday season at BER. Our teams on site were happy to talk to visitors and answer questions about what the airport company has to offer and the diversity of our business. Many of the guests also took the opportunity to get their hands on one of our popular giveaways. With the sun shining brightly, sun visors and sun cream came in handy - and created a holiday mood and a desire to travel.
The Berlin Lesbian and Gay City Festival is one of the best-known events in Germany's queer community. The airport companies' participation in the festival underlines its commitment to diversity and equal opportunities, as well as its appreciation of different perspectives.
