As part of the annual cycling competition ‘Who cycles the most?’, the employees of the airport company have once again put their pedals to the metal. In total, BER employees cycled an impressive 82,463 kilometres during the campaign period, contributing to a new donation record.
For several years now, the airport company has combined the sporting ambition of the competition with social commitment and donated five cents to a charitable project in the region for every kilometre cycled. This year, the money went to the Brandenburg Wish Van. In total, a donation of 4,123.15 euros was raised, which was symbolically handed over to the team of the ‘Wünschewagen’ on 5 September 2024.
The Wish Van is a voluntary and exclusively donation-funded project of the Workers' Samaritan Federation (ASB). The Brandenburg Wish Van and its wish granters have been on the road throughout the state since 2016 to fulfil the last wishes of terminally ill people and take them to their favourite place together with their families and friends.
