Donation for local reception centre

Once again this year, trainees and dual students at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH (FBB) took part in a special Christmas initiative for a good cause. In the company canteen at BER, they spent an afternoon baking, decorating and wrapping around 2,000 biscuits from around 45 kilograms of dough.

Together with other donations in kind, such as toys and soft toys, the cookies were handed over by Michael Halberstadt, Chief Human Resources Officer at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH, to the First Reception Centre for Refugees on Quittenweg at the end of November.

The Quittenweg Reception Centre is located near BER in Berlin-Altglienicke and has been run by the Berlin City Mission since February 2023. It is currently home to 222 refugees from various countries, including many families and children.

„We are grateful for the warm support of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH, which not only brings Christmas joy with its home-baked cookies, but also shows its solidarity with the neighbourhood. It is gestures like these that make the Advent season so special for our residents,“ says the team at the refugee reception centre in Quittenweg.
