Survey flights

during the nights of October 17 to 19, 2025

Published: 10 October 2025, 16:00

Survey flights by German Air Traffic Control (DFS) have been announced for the nights of October 17 to 19 at BER. A relatively quiet, twin-engine Beechcraft Super King Air 350 propeller aircraft will be used for this purpose. During these survey flights, all departure routes and approach procedures (except ILS) will be flown, with certain regions being flown over frequently in succession and at low altitude. Overflights of towns and villages will be avoided as far as the specified flight profiles allow.

As usual, the survey flights take place at night, as air traffic does not allow them to be carried out during the day. The flights are therefore generally exempt from night flight restrictions. The survey is required by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) at regular intervals.
