Survey flights

on the nights of 20 to 22 October and 25 to 26 October

Published: 17 October 2025, 16:00

Survey flights by German Air Traffic Control (DFS) have been announced at BER on the nights of 20 to 22 and 25 to 26 October. A relatively quiet, twin-engine Beechcraft Super King Air 350 propeller aircraft will be used for this purpose. During these survey flights, all arrival and departure procedures (except ILS) will be flown, with certain regions being flown over frequently in succession and at low altitude. Overflights of towns and villages will be avoided as far as the specified flight profiles allow.

As usual, the survey flights take place at night, as air traffic does not allow them to be carried out during the day. The flights are therefore generally exempt from night flight restrictions. The survey is required by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) at regular intervals.
