Every year, in the run-up to Christmas, trainees and dual students at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH (FBB) get together for an afternoon to bake cookies for a good cause. On 25 November 2025, around 25 hard-working participants baked, decorated and packaged around 2,000 cookies in the BER staff canteen to donate them to a charitable organisation in the airport area.
On 28 November 2025, the cookies were presented by trainees and representatives of the training and regional team at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH to a shelter for homeless people in Berlin-Rahnsdorf. Together with other donations such as stuffed animals and toys, they are intended to bring joy during this special time of year.
The facility in the neighbourhood of BER is run by Unionhilfswerk Soziale Dienste gGmbH. It offers homeless people safe accommodation where they can reorient themselves and develop their own initiative again with the aim of promoting their personal and family stability.
"Many thanks to the BER team! We are delighted to receive the homemade cookies in the run-up to Christmas. This wonderful idea and social commitment will not only delight the adult residents, but also make the children's eyes light up."
Marko Kuzmanovic, social worker and representative of the facility management, shelter for homeless people in Rahnsdorf
