For the sixth year in succession, the airport company is inviting residents who live in the vicinity of Berlin Brandenburg Airport Willy Brandt to a Noise Protection Day. This will take place on Wednesday 11 August from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm in the DIALOG-FORUM building at Mittelstrasse 11 in Schönefeld.
Throughout the day, various construction companies and the airport company’s Noise Protection Team will be on hand for individual discussions with residents.
In addition to the opportunity for personal consultation, there are various specialist presentations on the agenda. At 1.00 pm and 5.00 pm, the focus will be on implementing noise protection and the constructions of homes in the airport region; at 3.00 pm, FBB will provide information on the topics of aircraft noise and flight routes.
For the Noise Protection Day, FBB will ensure that all areas are well ventilated and that guests are able to observe social distancing and hygiene rules. FBB additionally asks all visitors to wear a medical or FFP2 mask within the building.
Michael Halberstadt, Chief Human Resources Office at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: “Air traffic increased significantly during the summer holidays, and many residents are noticing that it’s now becoming serious. There will definitely be more aircraft noise to protect them from moving forward.”
Ralf Wagner, Head of Noise protection & the Environment at Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: “We would this year again like to give our local residents the opportunity to discuss their individual noise protection issues with us. Furthermore, we will again use the Noise protection Day to promote the implementation of noise protection measures in construction. This year will therefore again see several construction companies specialising in sound protection in attendance. Our guests are invited to take the opportunity to engage with them.”
