For a city trip to Dubai, Christmas shopping in London or cross-country skiing in Norway: From October 29, the winter flight schedule will go live hand-in-hand with the change from summer to winter time. Until March 30, 2024, travellers from Berlin Brandenburg Airport can choose from 130 destinations in 52 countries, offered by 66 airlines. The most popular destinations are the European cities of Amsterdam, Zurich, Paris, Vienna and London. The most sought-after countries include Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Turkey and France.
Starting December 15, Norse Altantic Airways will begin its long-haul route from BER to Miami. This new direct connection to the USA will be operated once a week by the Norwegian airline using a Boeing Dreamliner. On October 30, the Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings will start connecting the capital region with Dubai in the United Arab Emirates four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The 2023/2024 winter flight schedule offers numerous sunny destinations on medium-haul flights. EasyJet will be flying from BER to Cairo, the capital of Egypt, from December 17, 2023. The route between BER and Cairo's Sphinx International Airport is flown twice a week, every Wednesday and Sunday, non-stop with a modern Airbus A320. In addition to Cairo, easyJet is offering connections to three other destinations in Egypt this winter. The popular seaside resort of Hurghada on the Red Sea will be served twice a week starting September 26, 2023. From October 12, 2023, flights to Marsa Alam will leave up to three times a week. Sharm El Sheikh will be served twice a week by easyJet from November 1. In addition, Air Cairo will also begin once-weekly flights to this Egyptian holiday destination for the first time.
The winter flight schedule also offers numerous options for travellers who want to experience winter on holiday. Two airlines are flying from BER to Tromsø for the first time. The Norwegian city will be served by Eurowings from December 10 and by Norwegian from January 18, 2024, twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.
In addition to the new destinations of Dubai and Tromsø, Eurowings is also offering Rovaniemi in Finland for the first time. From January 13, 2024, flights will depart for the capital of Lapland twice a week, every Wednesday and Sunday.
In addition, Eurowings is expanding the range of flights between BER and Innsbruck. From December 23 to March 9, 2024, the route will be flown twice weekly with an Airbus A320. This direct connection will then be included in the flight schedule every Wednesday and Saturday.
Volotea will begin flying to Lyon from October 12. The French metropolis is on the Spanish airline's flight schedule twice a week, every Thursday and Sunday. Along with Verona in northern Italy, Lyon is the airline's second new destination, which began flight operations at BER at the end of May 2023.
As usual, offers for the Canary Islands will increase during the winter season. Destinations like Lanzarote and La Palma are once again back at BER.
