According to the preliminary figures in the traffic report, around 1.92 million passengers passed through BER in March 2024. This represents an increase of 15.0 per cent compared to March 2023, when around 1.67 million passengers passed through the airport. The busiest day was 15 March when the airport handled 75,921 passengers. In March of the pre-pandemic year 2019, 2.93 million passengers passed through the two airports Tegel and Schönefeld.
In March 2024, 14,636 aircraft were registered at BER. Compared to the same month of the previous year, aircraft movements increased by 10.8 per cent. In March 2023, there were 13,212 aircraft movements. In March 2019, 24,253 aircraft movements were recorded at Tegel and Schönefeld.
In total, around 3,529 tonnes of air freight were loaded at BER in March 2024, 24.2 per cent more than in the same month last year. Compared to March in the pre-pandemic year 2019, air cargo volumes in March 2023 were again higher and increased by 26.6 per cent (from 2,787 tonnes).
