Invitation to the Vocational Training Day on 11 October 2025

Young talent wanted at BER Airport: young people can now apply to Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH for the 2026 vocational training year. Eleven apprenticeships and six dual study programmes are on offer. As of 1 September 2026, for example, business administrators specialising in aviation, electronics technicians, systems mechanics, industrial mechanics, safety specialists and IT specialists are all sought after. The airport’s operating company is offering a total of 40 places for vocational trainees and dual students.

Those pupils and parents who are interested can obtain competent advice on all professions on Saturday, 11 October 2025, at “BERzubi”, a vocational training day. BERzubi takes place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the BBAC, the office building in front of Terminal 1 at BER. Prior registration is not required. Entertainment will also be provided there. The airport’s fire brigade service will be on site at Willy-Brandt-Platz with typical emergency vehicles. There will also be a varied programme of events.

The first selection process for new vocational trainees will take place in November 2025, followed by potential contract offers. Vocational trainees will receive a salary of EUR 1,324.20 in their first year of training, and dual students will receive EUR 1,432.58 in their first year of dual study. Furthermore, FBB guarantees a 13th month’s salary, 30 days of annual leave and holiday pay, as well as an annual training and study support budget of EUR 250, along with a subsidy for public transport tickets. Upon successfully completing the training, there is the offer of a permanent employment contract.

Juliane Reffert, Head of Human Resources & Organisation at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: “Our vocational trainees are not just there to learn, they are an important part of our teams. They will receive robust support rooted in a spirit of trust, and they can get involved right from the start. We invest specifically in their professional and personal development, because they represent our future. At BERzubi, interested parties can not only learn about our fascinating working world, but also get an idea of how we, as an airport company, structure our vocational training programmes

On 1 September 2025, in tandem with the start of the application process, 39 young people aged between 16 and 30 began their vocational training or dual study programmes at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. 31 trainees started in eleven commercial, operational and industrial-technical professions, while eight students began their in-company training in one of the five dual study programmes.
