Air Canada is launching a new long-haul connection to BER this summer. Between 3 July 2026 and 11 October 2026, the airline will connect the capital region non-stop with Montréal, Canada's second-largest city. Three times a week, every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, Canada's largest airline will take off from BER bound for Canada. Air Canada offers numerous connecting flights within North America via its hub in Montréal.
Air Canada will fly an Airbus A321 XLR (Extra Long Range) on the route. This modern and efficient aircraft model is set to be used at BER for the first time. It has 182 seats, 14 of which are in Business Class and 168 in Economy Class. The flight time from BER is 8 hours and 40 minutes, and one hour less in the opposite direction.
“We are delighted to welcome Air Canada, a globally renowned airline, to BER. At the same time, the new Airbus A321 XLR will be used for scheduled services in Germany and at BER for the first time. This type of aircraft enables long-haul connections to be operated with great efficiency. This represents a great opportunity to expand connectivity in the capital region,” says Aletta von Massenbach, CEO of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. “Montréal also offers travellers attractive experiences and holiday opportunities in a country that is particularly popular with tourists, as well as a wide range of connecting flights.”
“We are delighted to announce this new route to Berlin, a vibrant and innovative capital at the heart of Europe. This reflects our continued commitment to strengthening ties between Germany and Canada, offering more travel opportunities for our customers,” said Jean-Christophe Herault, Regional Sales Manager for Germany, Switzerland & Austria. “With this new service, operated using our brand new A321 XLR aircraft, travellers will be able to benefit from Air Canada’s entire network in Canada, the United States and beyond.”

Montreal is a popular tourist and business destination. It is one of the country's leading economic centres and a hub for the aviation industry. Therefore, the new non-stop connection is of great interest to the Berlin and Brandenburg-based aerospace industry.
The largest city in the province of Québec is one of the most liveable cities in North America. Located largely on the Île de Montréal peninsula, more than three-quarters of the city is surrounded by water. The cityscape of this cosmopolitan, bilingual, metropolis combines historic and modern architecture. The city is strongly influenced by its French heritage, which is reflected in a diverse, French-inspired, gastronomic scene. Montréal also offers a diverse cultural and night-life scene and a lively festival culture. Warm summers and a magnificent Indian summer make the city an attractive destination for travellers from the capital region and beyond.
Air Canada is Canada’s largest airline and flag carrier. It offers flight connections on six continents, including numerous destinations in North, Central and South America, Europe and Asia. The airline is a founding member of Star Alliance and the only international network carrier in North America with a 4-star Skytrax rating. At more than 400 aircraft, the airline boasts one of the world’s youngest, most efficient and environmentally friendly fleets
