German tapas and snacks to accompany your drink: starting today, Berlin Brandenburg Airport welcomes a new dining venue located in the heart of the check-in hall of Terminal 1. Covering around 210 square meters, “Adler & Bär” features an open-concept bar with seating for 70 guests. Guests can enjoy a breakfast menu including “Capital City Muesli” and a vegetarian “Berlin Club Stulle,” as well as regional classics such as Berlin currywurst or Lusatian potatoes with linseed oil, accompanied by a wide selection of drinks.
Adler & Bär is run by Casualfood. The company already operates eight other catering establishments at BER, including ‘east side berlin’, ‘Deli Berlin’, ‘Berlin Pub’ and ‘Hermann's’ in Terminal 2.
The ‘Adler & Bär’ bar gives the publicly accessible check-in hall a new meeting point for travellers, their companions and visitors before the security control. Directly above the bar hangs the striking ‘red carpet’, the artwork ‘THE Magic Carpet’ by Californian artist Pae White. A modern lighting concept creates an atmospheric ambience. The name ‘Adler & Bär’ refers to the heraldic animals of Brandenburg and Berlin. The area was previously used as an information point and ticket counter. The bar will be open from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.
“With Adler & Bär, our guests will find a modern oasis of calm in the middle of the busy check-in hall’, says Aletta von Massenbach, Chief Executive Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. ‘The bar is ideal for relaxing before departure or saying goodbye to friends or family over a drink in a peaceful setting. This new venue reflects our commitment to making our guests' stay at BER as pleasant as possible.“
“We are delighted to have realized this new meeting place in such a prominent location together with Berlin Airport,” adds Jörn Niewiadomsky, CEO of Casualfood GmbH. “We have been present at BER for several years, and during this time a stable and mutually valuable partnership with the airport company has developed. Based on this experience, Adler & Bär has been completely newly designed. We are looking forward to the additional projects we will undertake together with the airport company in the future.”
In total, the retail, dining, and service offering at BER Airport includes more than 120 shops and restaurants. “Adler & Bär” expands this portfolio with a regionally inspired concept in the publicly accessible area of Terminal 1.
