New Chief Human Resources Officer takes up position at the airport

Axel Eschment supplements FBB Executive Board

Today, 1 April, Axel Eschment took up his position as the new Chief Human Resources Officer and Director of Labour Relations at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (FBB). He thus complements the Executive Board of FBB under the chairmanship of Aletta von Massenbach. The FBB Supervisory Board had appointed Axel Eschment at its meeting on 17 October 2025.

In addition to Human Resources Development and Organizational Matters, the new Managing Director will be responsible for noise abatement and environmental matters as well as the airport’s community relations.

Axel Eschment previously worked at Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) as Head of Business Partner Human Resources. He also held the positions of Managing Director of the Training Campus and Authorized Signatory (Prokurist) at BVG.

Axel Eschment began his professional career at Landesbank Berlin before moving to Sparkasse KölnBonn in 2001, where he was responsible inter alia for management consulting as well as strategy and processes. Most recently, he was responsible there for personnel controlling. Born in Berlin, he graduated with a degree in business administration from Berufsakademie Berlin and is a Certified Finance Expert from St. Gallen Business School.
