Kick-starting applications for apprentices and dual-study students at BER   
Airport company seeks new recruits for nine professions 

Getting off to a flying start at BER Airport: young people can now apply to Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH for the 2027 intake of apprentices. There are six apprenticeship programmes and three dual-study programmes to choose from. Electronics technicians, system mechanics, mechatronics engineers, security specialists and office administrators are among those sought to start an apprenticeship in the summer of 2027. The airport company is offering 20 places in total for apprentices and dual students.

The first selection process for new apprentices will take place in November 2026, followed by potential contractual commitments.

Apprentices will receive a salary of EUR 1,409.54 in their first apprenticeship year, while dual-students will receive EUR 1,520.31 in their first year of dual-study. Furthermore, FBB guarantees a 13th month’s salary, 30 days of annual leave and holiday pay, as well as an annual apprenticeship and study support budget of EUR 250 plus a subsidy for public transport tickets. The option of a permanent employment contract will be made available upon successfully completing the apprenticeship.

On 1 September 2026, 31 young people aged between 16 and 25 began their vocational training or dual-study programmes at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH, in tandem with the start of the application process. 22 trainees started in ten commercial, operational and industrial-technical professions, while eight students began their in-company training in one of the five dual-study programmes. In total, more than 100 apprentices and dual-study students now work for the airport company.
