Berlin Brandenburg Airport recorded a significant increase in passenger numbers in September. A total of 2.48 million passengers used BER in September. This was around 90,000 more passengers than in the previous month of August. This passenger figure corresponds to an increase of 9.1 percent compared to September 2023 with around 2.27 million passengers.
A total of 19.06 million passengers were welcomed at BER this year from January to September, which corresponds to an increase of 10.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year (17.19 million). The busiest day was September 27 with 99,579 passengers. On this day, many guests of the international trade fair Inno Trans 2024 travelled from Berlin and many participants of the Berlin Marathon 2024 arrived. This day was also the busiest so far since BER Airport opened in October 2020.
Almost 18,000 aircraft took off and landed at BER last month. This was 1,500 aircraft more than in August 2024 and eight per cent more than in September of the previous year.
A total of around 4,000 tons of air freight were loaded at BER last September. This corresponds to an increase of 24.5 percent compared to September 2023.
