Information for apprentices and dual students at BER

Young talent wanted at BER Airport: Young people can apply to Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH for the 2025 training year with immediate effect. Twelve apprenticeships and five dual study programmes are on offer. For example, we are seeking aviation clerks, electronics technicians, plant mechanics, industrial mechanics, safety specialists and IT specialists for 1 September 2025. An apprenticeship for IT specialists in data and process analysis is a new venture. In all, the airport company seeks to fill 41 places for apprentices and dual students.

Interested students and parents can obtain advice about all professions on Saturday, 14 September 2024 at AIRzubi, the Apprenticeship Day Event. AIRzubi will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in BBAC, the office building in front of BER Terminal 1. Registration is not required. Entertainment will also be provided there. The Airport Fire Service will be on site with typical emergency vehicles at Willy-Brandt-Platz, and there will be a programme with a raffle and activity games.

The first selection process for new apprentices will be held in November 2024, associated with possible contract commitments. Apprentices receive a salary of € 1,189.20 in their first year of training and dual students receive €1,297.58 in their first dual study year. FBB also guarantees a 13th monthly salary, 27 days’ holiday and holiday pay as well as an annual training and study grant of €250 and subsidised public transport tickets.

On 2 September 2024, 43 young people between the age of 16 and 26 started their apprenticeship or dual study programme at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH (see photo) in tandem with the start of the tender for 2025. Thirty-four apprentices started in twelve commercial, operational and industrial/technical professions, while nine students began their in-company training in one of the seven dual study programmes.

In total, more than 130 apprentices and dual students now work at the airport company.
