Fleet
management

Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH (FBB) is gradually modernizing its vehicle fleet, focusing on electromobility and low-consumption models.

Charging station

Since April 2017, 30 fully electric BMW i3 vehicles have been available to FBB employees. This means that half of vehicle pool of FBB is already electrified, and the trend is still rising. The electric vehicles have been well received by users thanks to their smooth running and high acceleration.

Employees with their own electric vehicles will also soon be provided with parking spaces with a charging station at the airport. In addition, passengers will be offered electric charging points in the multi-storey car park. FBB is working with taxi companies, car-sharing companies, and ground transport service providers in order to meet their requirements for electric mobility infrastructure as well.

The carbon footprint of the FBB eMobility programme is positive thanks to the hydroelectricity purchased by FBB. The electricity purchased by FBB comes exclusively from renewable sources.

FBB is networked with the Cottbus Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Agency for Electromobility eMO in Berlin to further develop the topic of electromobility.
