From 31 March to 27 April 2023, the FBB mobile measuring station in Potsdam-West stood on the premises of the German Federal Armed Forces' Centre for Military History and Social Sciences on Zeppelinstraße. Aircraft noise measurements showed a continuous sound level of 28.9 dB(A) during the day and 21.3 dB(A) at the night.
In Potsdam-West, it was possible to measure some landings on easterly routes as well as isolated take-offs from the northern runway. The landings produced an average maximum level of 54 dB(A).
Continuous sound levels are important, among other things, for determining the limit values when it comes to ensuring sound insulation requirements: Rooms used at night are protected from a continuous sound level of 50 dB(A), while rooms used during the day are protected from 60 dB(A).
All measured values were well below the limits for noise protection or compensation requirements.
