in the supply chain

The German Supply Chain
Due Diligence Act

The German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act came into force on 1 January 2023. The act aims to improve the protection of human rights and the environment in global supply chains. From 1 January 2024, the scope of application of the Act will be extended and will then also apply to Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH and its affiliated companies in accordance with Sections 15 et seq., AktG (German company law) ("FBB Group").

Human rights strategy

The FBB Group is aware of its responsibility to people and the environment and is committed to internationally recognised human rights and environmental standards. These include, in particular, the Sustainable Development Goals, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the conventions of the United Nations, the core labour standards of the International Labour Organization and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

Respecting and safeguarding human rights and environmental concerns are an integral part of corporate management and decision-making. In this context, we formulate the requirements we place on our employees, suppliers and service providers in our policy statement on our human rights strategy.

Complaints procedure

The complaints procedure aims to give all persons the opportunity to draw attention to human rights and environmental risks as well as violations of human rights or environmental obligations. To that end, the FBB Group provides a reporting channel as part of its general electronic whistleblower system.

The FBB Group’s ombudspersons' office is also available as a point of contact for whistleblowers.

The procedure is provided for in the Complaints Regulations. Details can be viewed here.
