The application period has expired

On the way to innovative and quieter flying, the airport company (FBB) is creating various incentives to promote active noise protection. For example, noise-related charges are levied at BER, which are higher for louder flights than for quieter ones. As a result, airlines are increasingly opting for modern and quieter aircraft and are also using steep take-off procedures, which cause less noise on the ground. However, FBB launched the BER noise protection programme for 26,500 households in an area covering 155 km² around BER many years ago to deal with unavoidable noise. More than 475 million euros have already been invested in this programme.
