Surveying flights

during the night 18 to 19 August

Survey flights by the German Air Traffic Control (DFS) have been announced for the night of 18 to 19 August at BER. During these survey flights, all departure routes and approach procedures (except ILS) will be flown, with certain regions being overflown frequently in succession and at low altitude. Overflights of towns and villages are avoided as far as the specified flight profiles allow.

As usual, the survey flights take place at night, as air traffic does not permit this during the day. The flights are therefore generally exempt from night flight restrictions. Surveying is required by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) at regular intervals.
