The last day of school before the Easter holidays on March 31 marks the start of Easter travel in Berlin and Brandenburg. During the holiday season from 31 March to 16 April, flights to 123 destinations will be offered from the capital's airport. 56 airlines serve destinations in 47 countries.
Around 1.15 million passengers and some 7,500 take-offs and landings are expected at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. On the individual days of the holiday, an average of around 68,000 passengers pass through BER. The main travel days, each with around 77,000 passengers, are expected to be on 2 April at the start of the holidays and on 16 April at the end of Easter period, both Sundays. During peak periods of holiday traffic, additional BERteam personnel will again be on hand to welcome and assist passengers in the terminals.
At Easter, travellers from the region are drawn to the European metropolises, to the Mediterranean and also to far-flung destinations. Amsterdam, Antalya, Paris, Zurich and Palma de Mallorca are at the top of the list of the most popular holiday and city destinations. The preferred countries for long-distance travellers from BER at Easter are Egypt, Qatar, USA, Singapore, Dubai and Tunisia.
For a relaxed start to the Easter holiday, passengers are advised to check in online at home if possible, to book a timeslot for their security check via BER Runway from 72 hours before departure and to arrive at the terminal 2.5 hours before departure.

Prior to travel

Baggage: When packing, pay attention to the regulations of the federal police and airlines regarding prohibited and dangerous items and find out more online: Security control
ID documents: Find out about the identification documents you need before you travel. Your ID card may not be sufficient and you will need additional documents.
The night before: easyJet passengers have the option of checking in their baggage for flights up to 9.30 a.m. on the following day at the airport the evening before (bag drop). Lufthansa and Eurowings passengers can check in the evening before for flights leaving over the entire following day. Please be at the terminal 2.5 hours before departure.

Arriving by train: Getting to Terminal 1 is the same as getting to Terminal 2. The train station is located directly under Terminal 1.
Parking: In the “Kiss & Fly” short-term parking zone directly in front of the terminal entrance, stopping is free for ten minutes for boarding and alighting. One hour of parking in the car parks near the terminal costs 5 euros, in the multi-storey car parks prices start at 3.50 euros for half an hour. At the airport
At the check-in machines: At BER, passengers can check in themselves and their luggage independently. Many airlines offer this service. The machines can be used for early departures from 3.30 a.m. on the actual departure day. You can get information about this from your airline or online: Self Service
At the check-in desk: You are also free to use the check-in desk. Please have your travel documents ready for check-in.
After checking in at the terminal: Please go straight to security. The security controls with the shortest waiting times are displayed on the airport display boards, in the app and on the airport website. Passengers can get to their gates through any security control in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Liquids: Please pack liquids in a clear, resealable bag as per regulations. Only one bag with a volume of up to one litre is permitted. Liquids must be stowed in containers of no more than 100ml each in the bag.
Electronic equipment: Power banks and e-cigarettes are only permitted in hand luggage.
Repacking in the terminal: In front of the security controls in the check-in hall of Terminal 1, you’ll find preparation tables where passengers can check their hand luggage again. Please take electronic devices such as laptops and tablets, as well as liquid bags, out of your hand luggage and present them separately at security control.
Without checked baggage: Passengers with a boarding pass and hand luggage only can proceed directly to security.
EasyPass: If you already have a new generation passport, you can use automatic passport control at exit for flights to non-Schengen destinations. This does not apply to children's passports.
