New routes to London and Lisbon

Eurowings launches expansion at BER

Eurowings is now operating non-stop flights from BER to capital cities London and Lisbon. These new destinations mark the start of further expansion for the Lufthansa subsidiary at Berlin Brandenburg Airport.

Among the capital cities, London is one of the most popular destinations. Eurowings is now operating the route 12 times a week. From Monday to Friday, the timetable features two daily connections at the start and end of the day – in the early morning and late afternoon – allowing for both flexible same-day business trips as well as those lasting several days. In addition, there is one flight on Saturday morning and one late on Sunday afternoon. City breakers will appreciate the late return flight time on Sunday: it allows them to make the most of the last day of their stay.

The dynamic metropolis of Lisbon in south-western Europe is also a popular destination for tourists and business travellers alike. From now on, Eurowings will fly to the Portuguese capital up to three times a week, every Monday and Friday, and also on Wednesdays during the summer holidays.

“With a total of nine aircraft now based at BER and a significantly expanded route network, Eurowings is sending a strong signal regarding the expansion of air transport links to the capital region,” says Aletta von Massenbach, Chief Executive Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. “This commitment to BER is exactly the kind of partnership we need to develop our airport sustainably and expand our offering for both business and leisure travellers.”

The start of further growth

The capital city routes launching today mark the start of a growth phase for Eurowings at BER. This is underpinned by the deployment of two further aircraft at the airport. In its new summer timetable, the airline is systematically expanding its presence and strengthening connections to European capitals and popular holiday destinations. With the route to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, set to launch in early May, as well as the three new holiday destinations of Olbia and Naples in Italy and Kavala in Greece, the route network will be broader and more diverse than ever before. This benefits travellers as well as the economy and tourism in Berlin and Brandenburg. Increased frequencies to Palma de Mallorca, Stockholm, Zurich and other destinations are specifically expanding the offering on established routes. In all, Eurowings is set to fly from BER to 43 destinations in 20 countries this summer.
