Passenger and staff travel to the airport

Berlin Brandenburg Airport has a six-track railway station with three platforms directly under the terminal. The station guarantees short distances for passengers on the S-Bahn, regional train, or IC/ICE. It takes only five minutes from the train station to the check-in desk.

This good integration of BER into the Deutsche Bahn network should contribute to around half of all travellers coming to the airport by public transport. It takes just under 30 minutes to get from Berlin city centre to BER by the Airport Express. The Airport Shuttle, a special express train, also connects Berlin Brandenburg Airport with Berlin city centre. Numerous S-Bahn and bus connections complement the public transport offer. With connections to Poland and the Czech Republic, the railway also provides cross-border links to BER.

As a contribution to climate protection, it is important to Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH that employees reach their workplace in an environmentally conscious manner. Therefore, since July 2012, all employees of the company have been able to obtain a company ticket from the regional transport association.

Cycling 2.0

FBB GmbH launched a company bicycle programme in June 2019 to promote environmentally friendly cycling. This also benefits the maintenance and improvement of employee health. Among other things, employees of Berlin airports are given incentives for emission-free mobility – whether by including bicycles in daily commutes or by using them in their leisure time. The programme specifically promotes the topics of cycling and climate protection and motivates employees who actively cycle. Safe cycling connections to Schönefeld Airport and BER can be viewed via the following map service:
