The airport company supported more than 200 projects and initiatives near BER last year 

Projects from A to Z: Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH (FBB) has been actively involved in a large number of charitable projects and initiatives in the areas surrounding the airport for many years. Special focus is given to promoting a wide range of educational, social, cultural and sport offers for children and young people. In addition to implementing its own projects, such as FBB’s corporate volunteering programme, the company also supports associations, schools, nurseries and other institutions financially or with donations in kind. More than 200 individual projects and initiatives were implemented or funded by FBB in 2023.

The interest of associations and institutions from the region in the airport’s neighbourhood activities and offers of support remained high last year. Supporting as many associations and institutions in the airport region as possible in their activities and initiatives is one of FBB’s main objectives.

Warnwestenübergabe BER
As part of the school enrolment campaign, a total of 3,267 children's warning waistcoats were distributed to primary schools in the airport region to ensure safety on the way to school & during trips.
World-Clean-Up-Day
Clean-up campaign for 'World Cleanup Day': In September 2023, around 50 FBB trainees and students came together to clear the area around Lake Schönfeld of rubbish.
Akustiksofa Grundschule Schulzendorf
An example of a project from last year: thanks to the airport's support, acoustic sofas were purchased for Schulzendorf primary school for the new school year.
Corporate Volunteering
During the corporate volunteering assignment in March 2023, airport employees planted a good 100 trees and shrubs together at the Blossin Youth Education Centre.
Hüpfburg Schönefeld
Whether it's a club, day-care centre, sports or community festival: the BER bouncy castle is particularly popular in the surrounding area during the summer months. It was used at a total of 26 events.
Sportförderung Umland
Sporting environment: Last year, more than 40 sports clubs were supported by the airport company, in particular promoting young talent in a total of 18 different types of sport.
Tag der Nachbarn
Exchange ideas, eat ice cream and experience BER: FBB invited interested residents of the airport to a small event on the visitors' terrace for 'Neighbours' Day' in May 2023.
