Donations and Sponsorships

For education, culture, sports and social projects

In addition to communication and dialogue, strengthening regional partnerships and fostering social engagement in the local community are key elements of our community outreach efforts. As a strong partner, we therefore provide targeted support for charitable initiatives and organizations in the airport’s surrounding area. We place particular emphasis on supporting young people and facilitating a wide range of programs in the areas of education, culture, social services, and sports.

In addition to financial support in the form of donations or sponsorship, our support initiatives for people in the airport region also include in-kind donations.

Financial support

We have a limited annual budget available for supporting education, culture, social initiatives, and sports in the BER area. Nonprofit organizations may submit a written application for funding for specific projects or initiatives.

The funds are intended to support the implementation of the respective project. Examples of such projects include the purchase of playground and sports equipment and learning materials, or the organization of educational field trips, school projects, and cultural events.

Financial support is typically provided in the form of a donation or sponsorship. In the case of sponsorship, an individual agreement is concluded that specifies the sponsor’s contribution on the one hand and the sponsored party’s service in return on the other. This may include, for example, advertising services in the form of jersey or banner advertising, or the publication of the sponsor’s logo on websites or in print materials. Donations, on the other hand, are purpose-bound funds for which no consideration is required. The airport company decides on the type of support and the amount of the contribution on a case-by-case basis.

Community festivities? Kids’ party? Summer festival? With our BER bouncy castle, we provide practical support for events in the surrounding communities. For many years, the bouncy castle has added real value to various neighborhood festivals, especially for our younger guests. Upon request and subject to availability, we make the bouncy castle available for selected events – free of charge and including full service (delivery, setup and takedown, as well as on-site supervision).

Please note our user instructions (in German).

Voices from the region

The BER logo on a volleyball court

“BER has sponsored sports activities and club work in the district of Dahme-Spreewald for many years. Thanks to the excellent partnership and cooperation, we are able to organize successful events, such as the now nationally renowned Dahme Cup in volleyball.”

Norman Grätz, Managing Director of Kreissportbund Dahme-Spreewald e. V.

Four adults are smiling as they pose in a school corridor. Two of them are sitting on a sofa with high sides in the middle of the corridor.

“On behalf of the school support association, I would like to thank BER for its support in purchasing the acoustic sofas for our primary school. The new seating serves as a place of retreat, increases the quality of learning and, therefore, supports the pupils in our growing community in their development.”

Markus Mücke, Chairman of the Schulzendorf Primary School Support Association

“BER also plays a part in the sporting success of SG Neukölln in swimming and water polo. Whether as a sponsoring partner, with non-cash prizes or the popular BER bouncy castle - the airport has always supported our work with young talent and our events in various ways.”

Jochen Hanz, Managing Director of Schwimm-Gemeinschaft Neukölln e. V. Berlin

A word of thanks from Tannenzapfen Nursery

“Thanks to your support, we were able to complete our sauna construction project at the Tannenzapfen Daycare Center last year. We, as the support association, would therefore like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts – also on behalf of the children, teachers, and parents. Without your support, we would never have been able to bring this idea to life so quickly. Thank you so much for believing in our project!“
